NBC, for renewing Friday Night Lights for 2 more years !  The two seasons will debut on Directv first, NBC second.  They did this with this past season, and I love it.  Not only do we get to see the show "early", but Directv also shows FNL without commercials.  Believe it or not, this makes a big difference on how you watch the show and feel the emotional punches.  Watching a powerful scene and then watching 2 1/2 minutes of commercials for Jet-Dry (with the creepy talking dishwasher) or auto insurance kinda takes the wind out of the sails, you know? Woo!  We'll finally get to see what it will be like for Coach over at East Dillon High.

Dapples from Movies & TV: Celeb Sightings

Whenever I talk to friends from out of town, they always ask me if I've met anyone famous. Given that I've lived in LA for almost all of my life, I have to say yes. But then, I can never think of anyone off the top of my head. And I think it's because of this: LA is the home of tons of celebrities. It's their little comfort zone. So, if I see Arsenio Hall at the Pier 1 Imports on Ventura buying throw pillows with his wife (true story), then I don't want to bother them and go on about how much I like their movie/show/blog/record/children's name. Let them be and live their lives like any normal, non-star/celebrity. That's how I would want to be treated if I were to become an international superstar. HOWEVER, they are still everywhere and with this blog, I will document the celebs that I see around town. I am not Gawker or Defamer(*RIP) and will not note precise details like time of day and intersections and all that. Not that there's anything wrong with...

What the heck is a Boilermaker anyway?

Even though I've been super busy trying to juggle work with taking care of LMH, I have tried to carve out time in order to finish my picks for this years NCAA March Madness Bracket. I participate in George The Mets Fans' pool and every year, I do two brackets. One is a regular bracket that I try (read: usually pick the #1 seed) to fill out to the best of my ability. The other is more fun; it is based entirely on the mascots of the competing teams. The basic rule is this: if these two mascots were put into a ring together, who would come out alive? It's harder than you think. Take for example, the matchup between the Michigan St. Spartans and the Robert Morris Colonials. To me, Spartans are way tougher (hello, I did see 300 a whole bunch of times), BUT, the Colonials would probably have early models of guns. However, they probably are the ones you need to pack after shooting once, so maybe that would give the Spartan time to roll in with his sword and cut the Colo...
