Tick Tock, You Don't Stop...

I like to sleep. Many that know me already know this. I like to sleep. I'm definitely more of a "night-person" who hits the snooze button every chance I get until the last possible moment when I have to get up to get ready for work (that's called the drop-dead time). I set my alarm for about 45 minutes earlier than the drop-dead time in order to wake myself up slowly and not oversleep. In theory this works. Another thing I do to ensure that I wake up on time is to set my alarm clock to 92.3 Hot Jamz/the Beat/whatever it's called now. Because there is nothing better than to wake up to funk/r&b in the morning. It could be Rick James one day, Beyonce the next. And it usually sticks in my head throughout the day, unlike NPR or some other talk radio station. However, this morning, I was gently awoken by the soothing voices of Color Me Badd. Yes. That's what I said. Color Me Badd. Now, I did enjoy them when they first came out with their songs. I ad...

Silly, but it makes me giggle

Now I'm blind.

Well, this weekend was quite an eventful one. Friday night, the hubband, my friend George, and his wife all went to the Dodger game. This rematch ended quite unlike the first game we went to in June. We lost, committed some dumb errors (there is a reason you learn how to call a fly ball in Little League, you know), and we didn't see anyone remotely like this . I'm afraid that he might be a rare sighting, much like a shooting star. Sigh. After the game, we all went and waited for the release of the new Harry Potter book. I finished it in two days. I would have probably finished it in one, but there were other things to do. It was excellent, although I'm going to have to re-read it to clear up a few things. The crowd at the Barnes & Noble was crazy! There were people dressed up as witches and wizards - a few had stuffed owls too. There was even a guy dressed like Hagrid. The only downside was this weird couple that kept making out in the aisles. And it wasn...

Wow.

Free Birthday ice cream from Coldstone Creamery & Baskin-Robbins ! I know this isn't exactly breaking news, but for people who don't know or forgot, these two places offer free scoops of ice cream for your birthday EVERY YEAR! All you have to do is go to their websites and sign up for their birthday list. Then, every year on your special day, they send you a coupon for a free ice cream. The Coldstone offer is much better than the BR one. They give you on free Medium (I hate the whole "love it" "like it" say of sizing. Really? I have to say that? Please.) scoop of any of their classic creations. You save about $5+. BR on the other hand, just gives you a free kids scoop, basically. Although, a) beggers can't by choosers and b) maybe a junior scoop is all we really need, tubby. ("And Leon is getting laaaaaarger!") So sign up & enjoy~! At least you know that someone is guaranteed to remember your birthday.

What do you think? Did it capture the essence that is Lindsay? Make yourself a Simpsons character ...the site's a little picky, so it might take you some time to get a good picture loaded.

Lucky Birthday Weekend in Las Vegas

So I've finally gotten around to posting about my birthday weekend. I must admit, half of it was because of laziness and half of it was because I actually was being productive for the early part of the week. I had been planning this trip with my friends since last year, so I was anxious to see what awaited us. Would it be really lucky, hitting sevens all the way, with us (14 total) coming home in a limo? Or would we all get super sunburned out in the 120 degree heat , watching the tourists from Alabama drink their huge margarita bongs? Either way, my goals were to: have a fun time with my friends, gamble a bit, relax, and get a free drink at the craps table. Anyway, here's my recap: FRIDAY - Started out wonderfully because the hubband and I first stopped off at the Kwik-E-Mart in Burbank for some coffee and donuts (mmmmmm.....donuts). The store really looks great - they even have a caricature of Principal Skinner spray painted on the side of the store, courtesy of "...

Check out the website for Burger King . You can load up any picture and grow a moustache. Then you can groom to your hearts delight and send someone a nice country song . The controls are kinda hard to control, but with time, I think that you could get a real nice 'stache.

Procrastinating again...

Well, I just got back from a wonderful birthday trip to Las Vegas, and given that I'm me, the post about that wonderful weekend is not done yet. In fact, I haven't really started it yet. But, it'll be good! I promise...Plus, I got to go to the Kwik-E-Mart and took pictures! In the meantime, here's a few fun links to procrastinate with: Well There's That - Shauna's blog where you can find her musings and tips for life. Bonus points for her for the best line of the day: Hemroid cream: Good For More Than Just Your Ass Threadless .com - This site has great, fun T-Shirts for like 15-20 bucks. For anyone who likes my Basement of the Alamo shirt, I got it from here. Can't Hardly Wait - A couple of weeks ago, the hubband and I caught this playing on TNT or some basic cable network that plays old movies back-to-back-to-back over the weekend. TBS, I'm looking at you... But anyway, I remember watching it when it first came out - nothing special. But this ...

Who needs the Kwik-E-Mart? I DOOOOOOOOOO!

In case you haven't heard, 7 Eleven has transformed some of their stores into Kwik-E-Marts to promote the new Simpsons Movie . Given that LA is so huge, Fox/7 Eleven has wisely decided to convert 2 locations for Southern California. Woo Hoo for you Fox/7 Eleven! Nobody likes to drive over the hill, no matter which way you are going. I'll post some pics when I actually get in the store (long lines abound), but for now, enjoy these I found .
